[Jolly Sports News] With the Philadelphia 76ers’ season slipping away, star center Joel Embiid is finding himself at the center of growing frustration within the organization.

During an appearance on *NBA Today* Wednesday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the 76ers and Embiid are expected to have a discussion about his health soon. Charania also noted that there has been “frustration” within the team regarding the former MVP’s limited availability this season.

Embiid, who turns 31 in March, has battled injuries throughout his NBA career. Last season, he was restricted to just 39 games due to a meniscus injury in his left knee. This year, his health issues have worsened, with the seven-footer appearing in only 13 of the team’s 42 games.

Ongoing problems with his left knee, coupled with other unrelated injuries, have kept him sidelined for extended periods. Embiid last played on Jan. 4, and his return remains uncertain.

While the 76ers’ struggles go beyond Embiid, his absence has highlighted the team’s vulnerabilities. Key players have also dealt with injuries, depth remains a significant issue, and newly-signed Paul George has failed to meet expectations since his four-year max contract in the offseason.

Still, as the team’s cornerstone player, Embiid bears much of the responsibility for their disappointing 15-27 record.

The 76ers’ season has often mirrored Embiid’s performance and availability, making his prolonged absence a major factor in their current struggles. As Philadelphia searches for answers, the clock is ticking on their hopes to salvage the season.
