[Saba Sports News] Dwight Howard shared heartbreaking news on Wednesday, revealing in a social media post that his dog, Sunday, was killed in a hit-and-run.

The former NBA star is now asking the public for help in uncovering what happened.

In an emotional Instagram post, Howard, 39, posted photos and videos of Sunday and expressed his devastation. He said the incident occurred on June 18 and suggested the driver fled the scene.

“I’m devastated because you were the dog that never left my side, the dog that stuck to my hip at all times, and the one time you wander off without me being there, someone takes you away from me. Who could be so heartless to do this to such an innocent girl with no remorse,” Howard wrote.

Howard is pleading for any information that could help identify the driver responsible.

“Please, if anyone has any information regarding a Belgian Malinois that was hit by a car on June 18th, 2025 in Suwanee, Georgia, please let me know,” he added.

The eight-time NBA All-Star currently plays for the LA Riot in Ice Cube’s BIG3 league. Earlier this month, he was ejected from his debut after getting into a fight with another former NBA player.

Howard last played in the NBA during the 2021–22 season and has since spent time playing overseas, continuing to seek a return to the league.
