[Saba Sports News] Victor Wembanyama already makes most NBA players look undersized — and the contrast is even more striking next to WNBA players.
The San Antonio Spurs phenom was spotted courtside Monday at a WNBA matchup between the Seattle Storm and the Dallas Wings at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. Following the Storm’s 79-71 win, Wembanyama greeted several players from the game.
A clip posted by the WNBA’s official X account showed Wembanyama absolutely towering over Storm rookie Dominique Malonga, who, like Wembanyama, is from France. The scene got even more surreal when Gabby Williams, another French player on the Storm, stepped into the frame.
Malonga, listed at 6-foot-6, is one of the tallest players in the WNBA, yet still looked dwarfed next to the 7-foot-3 Wembanyama. Williams, who stands 5-foot-11, barely reached his chest in the viral moment that quickly caught fans’ attention online.
Wembanyama, the top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, missed the second half of the Spurs’ season due to a blood clot in his shoulder. Fortunately, the latest update on his health has been positive, and he appeared in high spirits while supporting the WNBA on Monday.
Not long ago, Wembanyama posed with retired NBA legend Muggsy Bogues — the shortest player in league history at just 5-foot-3 — in a photo that made headlines for a similarly eye-popping visual contrast.
