[Saba Sports News] NBA fan favorite Lou Williams is facing criticism after admitting to an uninformed playoff prediction regarding the Indiana Pacers.

During Tuesday’s episode of his ‘Run It Back’ show on FanDuel TV with Michelle Beadle and Chandler Parsons, Williams was asked to predict the outcome of the Pacers vs. Bucks first-round series.

Despite Milwaukee being without Damian Lillard, both Williams and Parsons sided with the Bucks. But Williams raised eyebrows when he confessed he hadn’t watched much Pacers basketball this season.

“I won’t even sit here on these people’s TVs and lie,” Williams said. “I haven’t watched a lot of Pacers basketball this year. … They got off to a slow start and I became disinterested.”

Fans quickly called out Williams for lacking knowledge about a team that won 50 games and earned the East’s No. 4 seed. The backlash centered on the expectation that analysts—especially former players—should be better informed.

Williams isn’t the only former player-turned-analyst to make such an admission this season. Both Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley have recently been candid about not watching or researching certain teams. But Williams’ honesty didn’t stop fans from voicing their disappointment.
