[Saba Sports News] Obi Toppin had a monster performance for the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, capping it off with a clutch game-winning shot that had fans all saying the same thing.
Toppin dropped 34 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including a scorching 7-of-10 from three, leading the Pacers to a 132-130 overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center. He also grabbed 10 rebounds in what was arguably the best game of his NBA career.
The highlight of the night came when Toppin drilled a difficult corner three while fading away over Nickeil Alexander-Walker, flipping a one-point deficit into a Pacers lead. His seven made threes marked a career high, and the performance had fans joking that he had transformed into Reggie Miller for the night.
For any Pacers player, drawing Reggie Miller comparisons—the franchise’s greatest player and one of the NBA’s most legendary three-point shooters—is about as high of a compliment as it gets.
Toppin, who entered the game averaging 9.9 points per contest this season, is in his fifth NBA season and just delivered a performance to remember.
