Luka Doncic Roasts Suns on Hot Mic

[Saba Sports News] The Phoenix Suns have been struggling for the past two months, and even Luka Doncic couldn’t help but question their effort.

During the Lakers’ game against the Suns, both Doncic and Kevin Durant were mic’d up for ESPN. After knocking down several uncontested three-pointers in the first quarter, Doncic turned to his teammates and said, “I’ve never been this open in my life.”

Durant had emphasized the need to contest Doncic’s shots, warning his teammates, “We’re not stopping him from scoring, but we can’t let him drop 40 and dish out 12 assists.” His advice, however, seemed to go unheard.

The Suns had lost 14 of their last 20 games heading into Sunday, and tensions flared again between Durant and head coach Mike Budenholzer. At one point, Budenholzer was reportedly seen asking Durant why Doncic kept getting so many open looks.

While the Lakers had their own struggles, entering the game on a four-game skid, Doncic came out firing—and Phoenix’s defense gave him plenty to work with.
