Midway through the third quarter at Crypto.com Arena, the Lakers held a 62-49 lead over the Clippers when Jaxson Hayes secured a rebound off a missed three-pointer from Kawhi Leonard.
Sensing the opportunity, Doncic wasted no time—Hayes handed him the ball under the basket, and the Lakers star immediately fired a pinpoint full-court pass to James, who finished with a layup to push the lead to 15.
Doncic and James, two of the highest basketball IQs in the league, have quickly developed an elite on-court connection. Whenever LeBron takes off down the floor, Doncic has made it his mission to find him.
While LeBron has played with plenty of great teammates, few—if any—match Doncic’s vision and passing ability. Their short time together has already produced a string of highlight-reel moments.
Doncic led the way Sunday with a team-high 29 points and 9 assists, while James contributed 17 points and 9 assists of his own in the Lakers’ 108-102 victory over the Clippers.
