[Saba Sports News] The former five-time NBA All-Star was spotted courtside at the Detroit Pistons-Denver Nuggets game with an unexpected guest—Emmy-winning actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
The duo even got a shoutout from the Pistons’ official page on X.
This seemed to be a casual outing between friends, as Webber, 52, has been married to Erika Dates since 2009, while Louis-Dreyfus, 64, has been married to Brad Hall since 1987.
Webber, a Detroit native and former University of Michigan star, also had a brief stint with the Pistons in 2007. However, Louis-Dreyfus’ appearance was a bit more surprising, given that she’s a New York native and not typically associated with the NBA—though her son did play college basketball for a well-known Big Ten program.
Webber has recently been linked to a broadcasting role with a major network, while Louis-Dreyfus continues to thrive in Hollywood, with a role in the upcoming Marvel film Thunderbolts.
As for the game, the Pistons fell to the Nuggets 134-119, snapping an eight-game winning streak dating back to before the NBA All-Star break. But at least the night went better than the time Louis-Dreyfus’ Seinfeld character, Elaine Benes, attended a Yankees game in the ’90s.
