[Saba Sports News] LaMelo Ball made time to visit his father, LaVar Ball, this week following his recent medical emergency.
The Charlotte Hornets star took to his Instagram Story to share a photo with LaVar, taken Wednesday at the Ball family’s home in Chino Hills, California. LaMelo was in town for a game against the Los Angeles Lakers later that night—a matchup the Hornets won 100-97. The image shows the father-son duo posing together, with LaVar using a mobility scooter.
“Seen my dawg b4 da game,” LaMelo captioned the post. “It was only right. I love u pops 5L and after.”
News broke earlier this week that LaVar, 57, had undergone surgery to amputate his right foot due to a “serious medical issue.” Despite the setback, reports indicated he remained in “great spirits,” and his positive energy was evident in the photo with LaMelo.
LaMelo, 23, is the youngest of LaVar’s three sons. His older brothers, Lonzo, 27, currently plays for the Chicago Bulls, while LiAngelo, 26, has pivoted to an unexpected but successful career in music.
LaVar rose to national fame in 2017 with his outspoken personality and bold claims about himself and his sons. He also founded Big Baller Brand, a sports apparel company that has cultivated a cult following despite mixed reception.
In recent years, he has taken a step back from the spotlight, focusing on his family and supporting his wife, Tina, who also suffered a serious medical condition years ago.
