[Jolly Sports News] Mac McClung left fans a bit disappointed on Saturday night with his latest remarks.
The Orlando Magic G League player made history by winning his third consecutive Slam Dunk Contest, scoring a perfect 50 on all four of his dunks to edge out Stephon Castle for the victory. McClung is now the first player ever to win the contest three years in a row.
After his win at Chase Center in San Francisco, McClung was asked if he planned to return in 2026. While he has been a major highlight of the competition in recent years—consistently nailing his dunks on the first attempt and putting on a great show—he hinted that his participation next year would depend on fan demand.
McClung seems aware that seeing the same winner year after year might lead to fatigue, but it’s hard to grow tired of someone who makes jaw-dropping dunks look effortless. His latest display even included jumping over a car.
If the NBA wants McClung back for another round, they might need to make it worth his while.
