[Jolly Sports News] Kyrie Irving has broken his silence on the shocking trade that sent his former Dallas Mavericks co-star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Speaking to reporters after the Mavericks’ narrow 118-116 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, the eight-time All-Star shared his emotions about losing not just a teammate, but a close friend he considers family. Irving described the experience as a “grieving process.”

“Just really shocked,” Irving admitted. “You just don’t imagine you’re going to get ready to go to sleep and then you find out news like that. So, it’s still a grieving process right now. I miss my hermano. We had a lot of time together … we just built some bonds that went beyond the basketball court.”

While Irving acknowledged the emotional toll of the trade, he also recognized the business side of the NBA, noting that roster decisions are “way above my pay grade.”

Despite speculation about his future in Dallas following Doncic’s departure, reports indicate that Irving remains committed to the Mavericks amid the team’s sudden shake-up.
