[Jolly Sports News] Tension is brewing in Miami as several Heat players are reportedly losing patience with Jimmy Butler’s off-court antics.
Earlier this week, the Heat announced Butler’s indefinite suspension, just three games after returning from a previous seven-game ban for “conduct detrimental to the team.” While details of the latest incident remain scarce, frustration with Butler appears to go beyond the front office.
Fox Sports’ Rachel Nichols recently shared on the Open Floor podcast that multiple Heat players feel “disrespected” by the six-time All-Star’s behavior.
“I’ve talked to guys in [the Heat] locker room, and to say they have had it is an understatement,” Nichols said. “Because [Butler] has disrespected them so much—the way he’s been in and out, last minute not playing, how he’s treated [team staff] in their locker room, and the stunt where he made them wait for hours on the tarmac.”
Nichols also speculated that even Heat cornerstone Bam Adebayo likely hasn’t been thrilled with Butler’s actions, though she hasn’t spoken to him directly about it.
With multiple reports surfacing about Butler’s friction with the team, his trade value has reportedly taken a hit. Given his unpredictable nature, it remains to be seen if any winning teams would be willing to take a gamble on him.
