[Jolly Sports News] Year 2 hasn’t gone as planned for one of the NBA’s promising young players.

The Charlotte Hornets announced on Thursday that forward Brandon Miller underwent surgery to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist. As a result, Miller will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

At just 22 years old, Miller was the Hornets’ No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, selected one spot after Victor Wembanyama.

After a rocky start to his NBA career, Miller had been finding his rhythm this season, averaging an impressive 21.0 points per game with 3.9 made three-pointers. He also contributed 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, emerging as a strong secondary option alongside LaMelo Ball.

The injury, which occurred during a win over the Utah Jazz eight days ago, was a blow to both Miller and the struggling Hornets, who sit at 11-29 on the season.

With Miller sidelined, Charlotte will now lean on players like Cody Martin and Nick Smith Jr. to step up for the remainder of the year.
