[Jolly Sports News] The New York Knicks have largely delivered on their preseason promises, and Wednesday night was another step in the right direction.

They snapped a three-game losing streak with a dominant 112-98 victory over the Toronto Raptors, fueled by OG Anunoby’s standout performance against his former team. Anunoby led all scorers with 27 points on an efficient 8-12 shooting while contributing two steals and a block, showcasing his elite two-way game.

The win couldn’t have come at a better time, as the Knicks now face a tough test against an Oklahoma City Thunder team eager to bounce back after their 15-game winning streak was snapped by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Anunoby acknowledged the significance of the upcoming game, emphasizing its value as a benchmark for the Knicks’ standing among title contenders.

“It’s a big game because they’re a great team, so it’ll be a great test for us,” Anunoby said after the victory over Toronto, via SNY on X (formerly Twitter).

The Knicks already gave the Thunder a scare earlier this season on January 3, holding an eight-point lead heading into the fourth quarter before faltering against OKC’s top-tier defense. Now, with home-court advantage, the Knicks have a prime opportunity for redemption.

Facing a defensively stout Thunder team is no small challenge, but Anunoby’s focus and leadership set the tone for the rest of the squad.

Their previous performance against the Thunder showed flashes of offensive brilliance, even without consistent shooting from beyond the arc. This time, the Knicks will need to sustain that energy for all four quarters to secure a statement win.

Adding to their confidence, Karl-Anthony Towns returned to the lineup against the Raptors and looked sharp, matching Anunoby’s 27 points on 9-14 shooting.

With Towns finding his rhythm and the team regaining momentum, the Knicks are well-positioned to make a strong case against the Thunder this Friday.
