[Jolly Sports News] Tyler Herro avoided suspension for his role in Sunday’s on-court altercation against the Houston Rockets, but he didn’t come away completely unscathed.
During the fourth quarter, Rockets forward Amen Thompson threw Herro to the ground, igniting a brawl that led to six players and coaches being ejected. Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Herro revealed he sustained a minor injury from the incident—a small bruise on his right hip, according to reports.
Despite being thrown onto his right hip, the 24-year-old guard quickly got back on his feet and showed no lasting effects. Herro is not listed on the injury report for Wednesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, indicating the bruise isn’t a concern.
Currently enjoying a career-best season with averages of 24.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game on efficient 48/41/84 shooting splits, Herro was fined $25,000 by the NBA for his part in the altercation. Others involved faced stiffer penalties, including Thompson, who received a multi-game suspension.
