[Jolly Sports News] The Golden State Warriors are gearing up for another playoff push and are actively pursuing a star player to complement Stephen Curry.

On NBA Today, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Warriors remain focused on adding a playmaker or scorer to enhance their roster. Charania noted their offseason interest in Paul George and Lauri Markkanen as evidence of their intent to acquire a big-name talent.

“I’m told the Warriors are on the real hunt for a star — a playmaker, a scorer alongside Stephen Curry,” said Charania. The team faces a choice between seeking external help or relying on internal development, with Jonathan Kuminga as a potential in-house star candidate.

Kuminga, fresh off a career-high 33-point game, has shown glimpses of star potential. However, his status as a restricted free agent and lack of a long-term deal complicates the Warriors’ strategy.

While one prominent trade target appears available on the market, the Warriors haven’t shown serious interest yet. The question remains: how much are they willing to sacrifice to secure the support Curry needs?”
