[Jolly Sports News] The Philadelphia 76ers might be struggling in 2024, but they’re offering fans a nostalgic connection to the 1980s.

According to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, the 76ers have signed 6-foot-10 forward Pete Nance to a two-way contract. Nance, who previously spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and their G League affiliate, the Canton Charge, has been turning heads with strong performances in the G League, averaging 18.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game this season.

Pete Nance is the son of Larry Nance Sr., a three-time NBA All-Star and former Slam Dunk Contest champion. He’s also the younger brother of Larry Nance Jr., who currently plays for the Atlanta Hawks.

With the 76ers sitting at 4-14 and facing injury woes in their frontcourt—Joel Embiid has appeared in only four games due to knee management, and backup Andre Drummond is sidelined with an ankle injury—Nance provides much-needed depth.

Interestingly, Pete Nance is now the second son of a former NBA All-Star on the Sixers roster, adding another layer of family legacy to the team.
