[Jolly Sports News] Portland Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson had a tense moment this week while riding in a rideshare.
Blazers reporter Sean Highkin revealed Saturday that Henderson was involved in a minor car accident on Thursday afternoon in Houston. The rideshare vehicle he was in was rear-ended, but Henderson is reportedly “fine.”
The Blazers faced the Houston Rockets on Friday, losing 116-88, and are set to play them again Saturday. Henderson missed Friday’s game and is also ruled out for Saturday due to a “back strain.” However, Highkin noted that the injury is considered day-to-day.
The 20-year-old, selected as the No. 3 overall pick in 2023, is averaging 11.3 points and 5.2 assists per game this season. While his efficiency and turnovers remain a work in progress, Henderson has demonstrated flashes of the talent that made him a cornerstone draft pick for Portland. Off the court, he continues to navigate the challenges of his first NBA season with resilience.
