[Jolly Sports News] Jalen Brunson gave Knicks fans a scare when he went down with an ankle injury during Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center.

Early in the third quarter, Brunson was bringing the ball up the court, closely guarded by 76ers’ Caleb Martin.

As he crossed halfcourt, Brunson accidentally stepped on Martin’s foot, causing him to roll his ankle. He immediately curled up in pain near the center circle, and the Knicks called a timeout after Martin scored an uncontested layup, cutting New York’s lead to 54-52.

Brunson limped off to the locker room with four points and five assists on just 1/7 shooting. Miles McBride subbed in for him after the break.

Known for his grit, Brunson showed his toughness once again by tightening his shoe on the bench, intending to re-enter despite the pain. He checked back in at the 4:14 mark of the third quarter.

While adrenaline got him back on the floor, that ankle may feel much worse come morning.
