[Jolly Sports News] One Oklahoma City Thunder star didn’t take kindly to Draymond Green’s recent critique.
Last week, the Warriors veteran pointed out what he saw as a potential flaw in the Thunder’s approach, saying on his podcast that while OKC has been impressive this season, they lack “seriousness.” Green highlighted the Thunder’s playful tradition of barking during postgame interviews, a ritual they’ve kept up after wins since last season.
Thunder standout Jalen Williams, who started the tradition, responded to Green’s comments after OKC’s win over the Orlando Magic. Williams admitted he hadn’t heard Green’s criticism but found it “kinda weird” for him to comment on it.
“We’re just focused on what’s going on here,” Williams told Clemente Almanza of OKC Thunder Wire. “It’s kinda weird to have a strong opinion on it. We’re just locked in on what we have going on here. That’s how we come together as a team.”
Williams has a point: the Thunder are off to a 7-0 start and look like the NBA Finals contender many expected. Still, while a fun tradition might not impact their title chances, Green, a four-time champion, knows the level of “seriousness” required to win it all.
The Thunder host Green and the Warriors on Sunday, where a win would certainly make for a spirited round of postgame barks.
