[Jolly Sports News] Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert was not pleased after being dunked on by Denver Nuggets guard Christian Braun on Friday.
With the Nuggets leading 108-102 and just over five minutes left at Target Center in Minneapolis, Braun drove to the rim after receiving a pass and powered over Gobert for a powerful two-handed dunk. Braun flexed in front of Gobert, prompting the frustrated center to swing his arm at Braun in an attempt to shove him. Both players were assessed technical fouls.
The incident seemed to energize the Timberwolves. Following Braun’s dunk that extended Denver’s lead to 110-102, Minnesota surged with a 17-6 run, securing a 119-116 comeback victory.
Despite the poster dunk, Gobert had a strong game, finishing with 17 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. Known for his physical play, Gobert has been involved in on-court altercations before, including being put in a chokehold by Draymond Green last season.
