[Jolly Sports News] Draymond Green is betting on himself—to cut down on complaining.

On his podcast for The Volume, the Golden State Warriors veteran shared his unique goal for the 2024-25 season: keeping his technical fouls under 10.

“I’m gonna have less than 10 technical fouls this year,” Green said. “I might even try to keep it under eight.”

Green, now 34, is known for being one of the NBA’s most vocal players, often ranking among the leaders in technical fouls. His peak came in 2018-19 with a league-high 23. Last season, he had exactly 10 technicals but only due to missing time after incidents involving Rudy Gobert and Jusuf Nurkic.

Prior to that, Green had nine consecutive seasons with at least 14 technicals, with his lowest total of 14 coming in the shortened 2019-20 season.

The last time he had fewer than 10 was in 2013-14 when he wasn’t yet a full-time starter.

For Green, aiming for fewer than 10 technicals is a notable goal. The Warriors will welcome any improvement from the four-time All-Star, especially as he’s hinted at retirement being on the horizon.
