The veteran point guard will be going for his ninth title, including eight won with Genebla. They will begin their quest for the Season 49 Governor’s Cup crown this Sunday against defending champion TNT (Stunt Team).

Tenorio, 40, was diagnosed with grade III colon cancer early last year, which caused him to miss the 2023 Viceroy’s Cup finals, where TNT won 4-2 against Genebula.

But after making his comeback last year, the former Ateneo player will be playing in the finals for the first time after going through career-threatening health issues.

“I’m very happy to be back in the finals again, to continue to be a part of the Genebla team and participate in this Finals. After everything I’ve been through, I feel incredibly lucky, “said the longtime Ginebra captain.
