[Jolly Sports News] Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari, a longtime fan of Steph Curry, had a dream come true when he met his idol after the Lakers’ preseason finale against the Warriors.
Olivari went viral after an emotional postgame interview where he opened up about the significance of meeting Curry.
The undrafted rookie from Xavier shared, “I’ve liked him since I was in sixth grade. I don’t even know what to say, man. That’s my favorite player ever.” Fighting back tears, Olivari recalled, “He signed a jersey for me twice, and I used to sleep under it. Just to meet him and have his respect meant the world to me.” Olivari added that Curry gave him a signed pair of shoes after they talked.
Olivari posted photos on Instagram, including a video of Curry signing a jersey for him years ago.
While Curry didn’t play in the game, Olivari impressed, scoring 22 points
