Head coach Bonnie Tan said Joyce’s absence leaves a big hole in the squad just as they have two games coming up that are crucial to qualifying for the play-offs and must find a suitable replacement quickly.

Australia’s Joyce, 31, has been ruled out of the tournament with a suspected Achilles tendon injury. He injured his right foot in a game against Meralco last Saturday after competing with foreign aid Allen Durham on a shot.

After his injury, Joyce said he lost all feeling in his right leg and was carried out of the Ninoy Aquino Arena on a stretche. Joyce had four points and two rebounds with 3:15 left in the first quarter.
