Alex Cabagnot shines as Convige edges out TNT

(SabaSports News) Alex Cabagnot, a 41-year-old veteran, finally showed his worth with Converge, when he played in the team’s PBA Governors’ Cup on Tuesday night at Smart Araneta Arena, Played a key role in the game against TNT, helping the team to stage a stunning 96-95 win.

Cabagnot played 22 minutes and contributed 10 points, eight of them in the second half, as Convige rallied from a 16-point deficit. He even converted a clutch 3-pointer at the top of the key, through a foul by rival veteran Jayson Castro, to give Convige a 92-91 comeback.

 

Cabagnot said he was simply trying to repay the trust placed in him by the team’s management. Convige signed the nine-time champion out of free agency and signed him to a one-year contract.

 

“I’m just repaying their trust,” Cabagnot said. He also had five rebounds, two assists and made four of nine shots in the team’s second win in three games. Convige is currently tied with TNT at the top of Group A.
