Over the weekend, photos of the New Orleans Pelicans star looking noticeably slimmer at his basketball camp in Spartanburg, S.C., went viral. Williamson, who posed for pictures and answered questions from campers, appeared to be in decent shape.
At 24, Williamson has long battled weight issues during his NBA career. Officially listed at 6-foot-6 and 284 pounds, he played a career-high 70 games last season, averaging 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. However, a hamstring injury during the play-in tournament cut his season short, causing him to miss the rest of the Pelicans’ postseason.
Williamson, a two-time NBA All-Star, has previously shared “best shape of his life” photos in offseasons, only for the results to fade once the season started. But after recent reports of significant weight loss, Williamson seems committed to maintaining his new figure.
