[Jolly Sports News] One Dallas Mavericks player wants to reunite with his twin brother.
Mavs forward Markieff Morris called on social media for Dallas to sign his brother, Marcus Morris Sr., in free agency, stating Marcus would be “perfect” for the team. Although Markieff is also a free agent, he confirmed he will re-sign with the Mavericks.
“I’m coming back,” Markieff replied to a fan. “I want bro to come with me.” The Morris twins, both 34, played together at Kansas and were drafted consecutively in the 2011 NBA Draft. They also played together on the Phoenix Suns from 2013-15 before Marcus was traded, much to Markieff’s dismay. They haven’t been on the same team since.
Markieff was a popular locker room presence for the Mavericks last season, helping them reach the NBA Finals. Marcus, a productive scorer who hit 40.3% of his three-pointers last year, has other free agency options but Markieff hopes for a reunion in Dallas after nearly a decade apart.
