[Jolly Sports News] The Los Angeles Lakers have bolstered JJ Redick’s coaching staff with two notable hires. Former NBA head coaches Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks have joined as assistant coaches, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. With three decades of head coaching experience between them, McMillan and Brooks bring valuable expertise. McMillan last coached the Atlanta Hawks during the 2022-23 season, while Brooks was the head coach of the Washington Wizards until the 2020-21 season.
McMillan has a career head coaching record of 760-668 and a postseason record of 28-48, having led teams like the Hawks, Indiana Pacers, Portland Trail Blazers, and Seattle SuperSonics. Brooks, with a 521-414 regular-season record and a 49-48 playoff record, guided the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals in 2012 and spent the last three seasons as an assistant with the Blazers.
Given Redick’s lack of NBA coaching experience, the Lakers prioritized assembling a seasoned coaching staff to support him.
