(sabasports report)The Bulls signed Jalen Smith to a three-year, $27 million contract

Free agent center Jalen Smith has agreed to a three-year, $27 million deal with the Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN veteran Adrian Wojnarowski.
Smith was previously a member of the Indiana Pacers, serving primarily as a backup to center Myles Turner last season. He averaged 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game, making him one of the Pacers’ most efficient players.
Smith turned down a $5.4 million player option from the Pacers this summer to become an unrestricted free agent. His agency KlutchSports then engaged in tense negotiations with Bulls management, culminating in a three-year deal worth $27 million last night.
The completion of the deal will further enrich the Bulls’ big man lineup and provide Smith with a chance to develop steadily. As a 210cm tall young center, he is expected to emerge in the future in the Bulls, for the team’s offensive end to bring more threat.
