[Jolly Sports News] Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia publicly addressed rumors on Wednesday about potential trades involving Kevin Durant.
In a post on X, Ishbia noted that the NBA Draft often sparks a lot of “drama,” much of which is inaccurate. He emphasized that Durant and the Suns are very happy with each other and are focused on competing for a championship next season. “Phoenix loves Kevin Durant, and Kevin Durant loves Phoenix. We are competing for a championship this year because we have the team to do it,” Ishbia wrote.
While Ishbia did not explicitly state that Durant is untouchable, it is clear the Suns are not eager to trade him, and there is no indication that Durant wants to be moved.
Some teams might believe the Suns could consider trading Durant for the right offer, but it remains unlikely. Ishbia’s statement reinforces the team’s commitment to keeping Durant.
