[Jolly Sports News] The Minnesota Timberwolves have advanced to the 2024 Western Conference Finals after defeating the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of their second-round series, setting up a showdown with the Dallas Mavericks.

Anthony Edwards is particularly enthusiastic about his impending matchup with Kyrie Irving. “It’s gonna be fun, man. My matchup is going to be Kyrie, so that’s gonna be fun. We’re gonna see what I can do versus him,” Edwards expressed.

During the regular season, Kyrie Irving faced the Timberwolves just once, scoring 35 points in a Mavericks victory. Edwards, on the other hand, has maintained an average of 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in four games against Dallas this season.

With all their regular season encounters occurring early in the season, the revamped Mavericks, bolstered by trade deadline acquisitions Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington, remain somewhat of an unknown in terms of their current form against the Timberwolves.

Despite this uncertainty, Dallas is counting on their enhanced offensive firepower to counter Minnesota’s robust defense in the upcoming series.
