[Jolly Sports News] Retired Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce was hospitalized last Friday due to a severe injury that involved broken bones and substantial blood loss.
Pierce informed his followers on X, previously known as Twitter, that he had successful surgery to fix the damage. He also shared highly graphic photos of the injury on Instagram before the operation, explaining that the injury occurred when a weight fell on his hand during a workout.
“Surgery went well,” Pierce mentioned. “Should be good in about three weeks, but it’s all good… I had dropped a weight on it in the weight room, that’s why it’s split open. But everything is good. I appreciate y’all being concerned, though.”
Despite the serious nature of the injury, a three-week recovery period is expected, which is surprisingly short and certainly good news for Pierce, who remains upbeat.
