[Jolly Sports News] LeBron James took on the role of newsbreaker, announcing Duquesne’s hire of Dru Joyce as head coach. James, referring to himself as “the unquestioned source,” shared that Joyce was meeting with the team after his promotion.

James expressed pride and happiness for Joyce, his former high school teammate at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron. Their close friendship adds weight to James’ credibility as a source. Notably, Joyce replaces Keith Dambrot, James’ first high school coach, who recently retired. Dambrot had initially brought Joyce on as an assistant.

“I’m proud to announce! As the unquestioned source I am confirming that Dru Joyce is the new HC at Duquesne University and is meeting with the team right now! So damn happy and proud of you my brother!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏👏👏❤️💙🤍

Duquesne’s recent NCAA Tournament appearance, their first since 1977, saw them upset BYU in the first round, with James cheering them on. With Joyce now leading the team, James’ support is expected to continue.
