In his recent podcast episode for The Volume, Green criticized Jenkins for what he perceived as an exaggeration.
“Taylor Jenkins took a dive,” Green remarked. “He milked it, and I couldn’t believe how he exaggerated the situation. He’s on the court, acting it out, and then their trainer comes over… The trainer asked if he was okay, and he responds, ‘I’m okay,’ in a strained whisper, trying to milk it! That’s just absurd to me.”
Jenkins, aged 39, has been the head coach of the Grizzlies for the past five seasons. Throughout this tenure, the Grizzlies have maintained a longstanding rivalry with the Warriors, marked by notable incidents involving Green.
Although the intensity of the rivalry has lessened this season, given the Grizzlies’ position far from playoff contention and the Warriors only securing a play-in spot, Wednesday’s incident suggests that there’s still lingering animosity between the teams.
